name etymology;Silverstar's warrior name was Silverpool. The prefix of his name, Silver, came from his grey coat, which, at that time, shone in the moonlight much like that of silver. When he finished his apprentice training, and recieved his warrior name, Silverstar was named Silverpool, for his icy blue eyes.
religious outlook;Silverstar isn't a strong believer of Starclan, but he doesn't scoff at them either. You could say that he's an in-the-middle sort of cat. Though he does recieve guidance from Starclan from time to time, he feels that they aren't much help. He believes that they are real, that much is certain, but he feels that there is no need to look so dearly upon warrior ancestors that do not have the power to help living cats in their time of need. He does not, however, force other cats to see his views on things, but rather, lets all cats think what they want. It is his belief that every cat should have the right to believe in what they want.

appearance;Silverstar's build isn't too much to look at, as he looks.....average, to say the least. When he was little, his mother often commented on the smoothness of his fur, often going as far as to comment on wether or not he belonged in Riverclan instead. It was obviously not the case, and from the early days of kithood, when Silverstar watched his fellow clanmates practice hunting techniques and talk about other clans, he knew that his place was still in Shadowclan. Silverstar does not have a noticibly large build, and prefers not to show off his strength that much, seeing as he prefers to be a withdrawn sort of cat. Because of his unnaturally small size and small build, he prefers slinking in the shadows, stealth over brute force. One may not even look at him as a leader from first sight, and it is true that he has questioned the fact of how he got to become leader in the first place. His faith in Starclan is what leads to his doubts.
Silverstar, other than his now dull grey coat, has piercing blue eyes, that, most of the time, fail to show any emotion whatsoever. Whatever thoughts and doubts he has about himself and his own life is hidden, though sometimes not as well as he thinks, but the fact that he has the thought of his clan in mind is enough reason for him to at least try. His parents, as well as his mentor, commented on how his eeys looked like deep pools of water, adding on his more Riverclan look, which was how he got his warrior name in the first place. Despite everything said about how he looks like a Riverclan cat, Silverstar detests swimming more than the warriors in his clan, though he does not enjoy admitting it to anyone but himself.
personality;Silverstar doesn't like to view himself as a pessimistic type of cat, but that is a pretty accurate description of his personality overall. Because of his faith and view on Starclan, he doesn't view himself as fit to be leader, seeing it as based on chance, because his previous leader saw him fit to be deputy back then. He questions himself often. Was he meant to be deputy? Was he meant to be leader? None of this changes the fact that he still cares more about his clan than anything else, however. He doesn't like to share his problems with other cats, not even his deputy nor medicine cat, and feels that if there is anything that he has to do, it's for the sake of the clan. Meaningless thoughts will just drag him down as a cat, and he realizes that, but there's always part of him that has doubts, because, unlike the other warriors in the clan, his thoughts of the clan and clans around are not all centered on whether or not Starclan willed it or not.
Loyalty means everything to Silverstar. From the moment he was made an apprentice, he vowed to be as loyal to his clan as he could. After all, what else did a cat that didn't think highly of Starclan cling to? He believes that for something to truly get done, warriors should not rely on their warrior ancestors, but rather, rely on their own instincts and knowledge to get things done. A disloyal warrior does result in exile, as Silverstar, though he does believe in killing those who are disloyal, still heeds by Starclan's wishes, though he believes that they still cannot do anything if something like such were to ever happen. The only strong belief that he stands by no matter what is that cats must rely on themselves to get battles sorted out and win wars that break out amongst the clans. It is up to the cats themselves to sort out prey shortages and herb shortages. Because he sticks by his belief, Silverstar helps out as much as he can to prover his point across. He often spends a lot of time in his den in times of war, however, to try and come up with the most suitable strategy of attack.

history;Kithood:
The first thing that anyone noticed about Silverkit was that he was a small kit for his size. One kit in a litter of three, he was born the very last of them all, and according to his mother, Shadepelt, and the medicine cat at that time, Ivyleaf, it wasn't guaranteed that he would actually live, though the chances were higher that he would than not. The new born Silverkit managed to survive the night, and was gradually nursed back to health, though his small size at birth would follow him throughout the course of his entire life. His two siblings, a she-cat and another tom, were eventually named Foxkit and Greykit.
His mother was proud of them, but as Silverkit grew older, he began to notice that she did not view him the same way. For one thing, she often looked at him differently than his siblings, and though his father, Stonepelt, seemed to have much better feelings about the young Silverkit, he was convinced that she did not love him because of his small size. And it was true. He was small for a tom, even small for a she-kit, and it was his size that often led to him being scoffed at by the younger kits. He had a few friends here and there, but his closest friend remained only one kit, named Duskkit, a jet black tom kit that was the only one ever friendly to the young Silverkit, other than his siblings.
Apprenticeship
Silverkit actually got his apprentice name one moon late, due to the fact that no one thought that he was big enough to become an apprentice at six moons, not even his parents. It was for this reason that Silverkit did not become Silverpaw until the age of seven moons. Duskpaw had already become an apprentice by this time, but his friend waited for him to catch up on his training before he and his mentor resumed theirs. Silverpaw never did get along with his own mentor, but rather took a liking to Duskpaw's mentor, Fernheart. THough it never really got to a relationship, he had a deep admiration for the dappled she-cat. His own mentor, Snowfall, wasn't much of a mentor. She simply stayed around and googled at toms all day, and never payed attention to Silverpaw at all. He was convinced that he would never become a warrior at the rate that she was teaching him, so he buddied with Duskpaw and his mentor instead.
His two siblings never really talked to him much, nor did they each other, and the three all had separate paths ahead of them. Foxpaw became an apprentice at the normal age, and so did Graypaw. Both never really stuck up for Silverkit, nor did he ever really want them to. They never talked among themselves like normal siblings did, nor did they play among themselves. Foxpaw was a naive young kit that thought that she had love at first site with many toms, which all turned out to be nothing but heartbreaks. She admired her mentor more than she did her parents, and it was rumored that she actually loved him. Silverpaw and Graypaw never really thought any of this, as their sister had always done that with other toms before. Why should this be any different.
Warriorhood
Through intense training and hardships, Silverpaw finally managed to earn his warrior name after passing the assessment, earning the name of Silverpool. On the day of his assessment, however, he learned the news that his former mentor, Snowfall, had died giving birth to a tom's kits, though the tom was still unknown. She never really had a set mate, and Silverpool didn't feel that he had any obligation to mourn over her. He didn't feel much grief for a mentor he never got to know, though he did sit vigil for her. On the same day, his mother was killed while patrolling a border alone. She was apparantly killed by a fox, but no one really knew. Silverpool himself was even surprised when he didn't feel any grief for her, even at the vigil. It was the first and last time that he ever looked up at the stars and asked Starclan about what was going on.
After his mother died, Silverpool's father fell into a state of depression. He wasn't as inclined to do his warrior duties as much as he felt that he could, and soon retired to the elder's den. Because of all of the dangers that were going on, Foxpaw, now Foxttuft, and her mate and former mentor, Dustheart, decided to leave the clan, and become loners. It just so happened that Dustheart was also the clan deputy, and after a very reluctant goodbye, the leader appointed a new deputy. This was Silverpool.
Deputy ship
It was not until he became deputy that Silverpool really began to question himself and his beliefs. Did Starclan really exist? If they did, then why did they not do anything to stop his family from breaking apart? Why did they not do anything to help his clan through the hardships that cost so many warriors? His faith in them had never been particularly strong, but he never really imagined that it would wane away altogether on that day. But that's exactly what happened. It wasn't so much as the fact that he didn't believe that they existed, but the fact that he believed that they did, but couldn't help in any way, and thus, wasn't very important. Which made it much worse than not believing at all. It was only for this reason that when the leader lost his last life, he was able to travel to moonstone, and receive his nine lives.
